World Environment Day

Today is World Environment Day, set up by the UN in 1972, and originally hosted by Sweden, to bring about better awareness of how pollutionaffects our planet, and what we can do about it..

On this day we are all encouraged to think about our impact on the world around us, something I think about a lot, and am saddened that some still clearly do not care enough for our planet.

Here in Vilanova today there are groups, and individuals, doing their bit, cleaning up the rubbish from the beaches, coves and countryside, and when I take the dogs out this evening I shall take a rubbish bag with me and pick up the litter etc that has been carelessly dropped in our fields.
