Vilanova market

One of the best resources in Vilanova is the municipal market, it's a beautiful building with a large square behind it, which on Saturday mornings becomes the site of the weekly street market.

Throughout the week there are stalls here selling a wide range of products for the table, and at the weekend the range increases as local farmers and people with allotments bring their wares into town to sell them, and all at excellent prices. I can go home with bags full of fruit and veg to last me the week for much less than a tenner.

The Saturday market also brings a lot of other vendors into town selling their wares, like clothes, shoes, plants, pet supplies and kitchenware, but for me the market is all about fresh produce.

If you're spending any time here you really should check it out, it's just 5 minutes walk up the Rambla from TdM, and you can always stop for refreshment on the way.
