Vegans Vilanova

As a veggie I was excited to see this new stand in the municipal market which opened this November, and is doing well. Veganism and vegetarianism are both growing rapidly in Spain, and very much so here in Catalunya.

When we first asked here for veggie products 30 years ago we were treated with blank stares and the options were very limited and often not even vegetarian. Even today a vegetal sandwich will have tuna in it, and there's still a long way to go before these lifestyle vices are fully accepted/integrated but things are so much better. Nowadays the choice is refreshing.

VegansVilanova has a range of fresh artisanal products that mimic the taste and texture of meat products, ranging from skewers, cutlets or steaks to cannelloni and croquettes. Its products, completely homemade and km0, stand out without any additives, made only with basic and quality ingredients.

Bulk products are also available from many of the industry's leading brands, such as Heura (another Catalan company), BeyondMeat, VeganNutrition and Linda McCartney.

You can also find cold cuts, such as imitations of Iberian ham, mortadella, as well as different cheeses such as mozzarella, parmesan or blue cheese.
