Sant Jordi
Today is also the day of the Catalunya patron saint, Sant Jordi.

Today things in Vilanova and in many places all over Catalunya things will be returning to the pre-pandemic way of celebration.
There will be book stands all down the Rambla, and roses on sale everywhere.
Books play a big part in today's celebrations as they are given as gifts. Today is also the anniversary of the death of perhaps the most famous Spanish writer, Miguel de Cervantes, and fur the Brits the anniversary of our most famous writer (and also my distant cousin - yep truthfully), William Shakespeare.
