Saint Stephen's Day

AKA - Boxing Day (The day on which Christmas Boxes, presents, were tradionally given to staff who would have been working yesterday to look after the family).

But who was Saint Stephen?

Saint Stephen is the patron saint of bricklayers and stonemasons. He was a deacon in the early Christian church and cared for the poor. Stephen was stoned to death by the Jewish council in Jerusalem after he condemned them for murdering the Messiah.

Today is not officially a holiday across Spain, but is in Catalunya.
