Saint Ildefonsus

Today is Saint Ildefonsus' day, patron Saint of Cordoba, a Spanish city about 800kms South of here, and today will be a holiday there.

Cordoba best known for La Mezquita, a huge mosque that dates from 784 A.D., and has a columned prayer hall and older Byzantine mosaics. It was to a Catholic Church in 1286.

I've not yet visited the city, but one day intend to, esoecially as a friend has a holiday let there.
