Rubbish
Vilanova i la Geltrú Council has temporarily cancelled the tender for the new door-to-door rubbish collection service, following a report that the agreed salary improvements must be incorporated after the strike.
The suspension is not final, but the goal is to incorporate these job improvements. The local government maintains its intention to reconvene the tender soon. The staff went on strike in late February to demand job improvements and that these be preserved with the new company. Among the agreements reached to call off the strike were the updating of the salary tables for 2022 and 2023, and the inclusion of improvements in the tender specifications.

It looks like the door to door collections will be going ahead later this year, and from some inside information I have gleaned it is not something that will be shelved, and is happening throughout Spain.
