Montroig Cafe

... is one of my favourite places in Sitges, just 5 minutes up the coast, and yesterday I popped along there for the first time in over 3 months.

The cafe is owned by the same family that owned the hotel when we first came here in 1984, the Bertran Hotel.

It's one of the best places to enjoy a cafe con leche, or maybe something stronger and people watch, for there is much to watch in Sitges.

Montroig also have an extensive menu, including a variety of breakfasts, lunches, dinners and all the snacks and tapas in between.

One of my favourite breakfast/lunches

For the last two years the creative writers group that I used to run used to meet there. Many stories were written over the occasional (regular) glass of cava. The two books of short stories we published together were very popular and raised well over €200 for a local charity.
