... was my paternal grandmother, and today would have been her birthday. She was born on this day in 1915 in Dartford, and her maiden name was Lee.
Sunday lunches were often spent at Nan's house, and the smell of gravy can often take me straight back there. Nan was in service as a young girl, working in the kitchen of a big house, where I believe she met my grandad, who was a gardener. Having studied our genealogy I found out quite a lot about her family, and there are plenty of skeletons in that cupboard.
Like Chubb (maternal grandad) Nanny Tullett lives a longer life than most of the family, living to be 85.
At her 80th surprise birthday lunch (with my dad).
