Historic Vilanova

Our guide was Angel Gutierrez, a Vilanova resident, originally from Cuba, who had an amazing amount of knowledge about our town, quoting so many dates and facts and figures I couldn't retain most of in my head. All in all it was very interesting.

Some of the information I already knew, having looked into our history already, but not in great depth, but there was a lot I didn't know, and was surprised at how many important monuments etc I pass regularly but have never really seen them. What did surprise me was how little knowledge of some things the rest of the group had, many of them being Vilanova born and bred.

We started outside the church in Placa de las Neus (Snow Square), which is the area directly in front of the church. This plaza was originally graced by a large fountain which was removed to give better views of the Rambla and the church in reach direction. It was also a raised plaza until just a few years ago.

Here are a few photos from some of the places on the tour. Over the coming days/weeks I will try to give more some more details and information.
