Day of Madrid

Today is the day of Madrid, and a public holiday in the city. It commemorates an uprising on the 2nd May (which is the usual day for the celebration, but because it's a Sunday this year it has moved a day) in 1808 against French troops and led to the Spanish War of Independence. (1808 - 1814).
