Casa Batllo

Yesterday, part of my continued tourist journey I visited Casa Batllo, the building just outside the station on Passeo de Gracia in Barcelona. They have had a 2 for 1 offer on tickets recently for residents, so along with my bestie, Alberto, we played tourists again.

Luckily when we arrived at 10.00 there were very few people inside, and it only stayed getting busier halfway through the visit.

The tickets include an audio guided tour for which headphones are provided that are completely automatic, connected to a Web of sensors, to play the correct audio for each room. And I have to say it was very well done.

A couple of the things I liked were photo frames which had moving pictures in them, and a hologram of a maid doing the ironing.

At the end of the tour was the 10D experience, and Alberto and I were lucky enough to be the only ones in the room for our session. To say it blew my mind is a bit of a cliche, but it sure did impress and assault my senses. I was a little disorientated for a few minutes as we passed through the gift shop in the way out, which incidentally is perfect for real tourists with so much choice of souvenirs.

And Finally...Just a few of the photos from today
