Did you know the founder of the Bacardi company/ empire was born just up the road from Vilanova in Sitges.

And did you know there's is also an interactive Bacardi 'museum' there too?

Casa Bacardí Sitges, built in 1890, offers its visitors a guided visit where you will find out about Bacardi and Sitges. Discover the history of the brand, of the rum making process, taste the legendary Bacardi cocktails and create your own.

Fancy a cocktail? You can try three cocktails and create your own.

After the tour you can enjoy your cocktail in the museum or on the terrace.

At time of writing the tours last about an hour and cost €15 which includes the cocktail.

The current hours are Wednesday to Sunday:

From 12.00 pm to 14.00

And 15.00 to 20.00

Tours can be booked in advance through the Bacardi website.

Interesting fact

In Cuba, bats are considered lucky. When Doña Amalia Bacardí spotted fruit bats in the distillery, she insisted that a bat should appear on every bottle.
